Happy New Year 2009!

WoW - I can hardly believe it is 2009 --- what happened to the 365 days in 2008?

We had our share of ups and unfortunately a few downs in 2008. First I cannot believe I didn't get our Christmas cards done, and I apologize to all of you....but look for a little 'make-up' coming soon!

Back in April is when Dean and I got serious about adopting, and submitted our application to a China program....as you know we are adopting from Japan, obviously things changed at some point. A lot of our year has been full of discovery, challenges, and triumphs as we have progressed down the adoption path. We are very happy and excited about what 2009 will bring us - and we are hopeful that we will have a baby this year, but we are leaving things to God, it's in His hands now.

Cute little bluebird ornament we found this year

We also had a couple of very sad points this year, we lost my Grandma, and just two days before Christmas I lost a very dear and close friend, Patty. She was so much more than a friend, and I will miss her more than words can say - Patty fought a very tough battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer the past 3 1/2 years. I feel very strongly that Patty will be in Japan, helping to find our baby, she is now our Guardian Angel.

Last week Dean assembled our crib and today after taking down all of our Christmas decorations I put the mattress pad and a sheet on. Here is a picture of the sheet I had bought many years ago...do you see why I chose this sheet? Hmmmm, look it has little bluebirds!

Our crib (not where it will stay in the bedroom)

Happy New Year everyone!

Just checking in on the blog. When you say you bought the sheet a long time ago, do you mean...even before you knew what they stand for? It really seems that all of this is happening in a timing that is not of our own. I know you have waited so long for this baby, but God is bringing him or her in His timing, which means everything will be perfect! Love you!
